IT Support Technician
Part of an expanding team, you will be required to maintain the computers, network servers and phone technology in our 3 facilities. You will: Work daily with the hardware, repairing or replacing defective equipment; Install new or upgraded software and conduct testing on new or current software; Diagnose problems in computer hardware and troubleshoot problems for users; Verify that needed upgrades are installed on systems and may need to conduct periodic inventory of the computers used; Collect outdated equipment for recycling or disposal; install new computers and attach peripheral equipment such as printers; Instruct and train new users on software or hardware, especially when new employees start or major upgrades are made.
Main Tasks
- Install, update, and repair software on organization systems
- Track and monitor day-to-day performance of systems, and conduct analysis with the goal of improving performance
- Respond to requests for new or configured hardware or software, and keep inventory up to date
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, logging problems and documenting as per required
- Participate in other tasks or projects, as needed
KSAO (Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Other) Profile
- College or University diploma in IT (Network Administration)
- Microsoft, Cisco certifications would constitute an asset
- Experience of two years in a similar role working with VM Ware, backing up and restoring methods and software preferably Veeam
- Experience installing and troubleshooting Windows 10, Office 365, G-Suite Administration
- Knowledge of Microsoft Networking, Directory and Services (Windows Server 2016, 2012 and 2008)
- Knowledge of HTML, XML, CSS and Javascript
- Proficiency in both English and French (oral, written)
- Organizational and multitasking skills, flexible and adaptable, client and solutions-oriented, someone who can work well autonomously as well as part of a team
Requirements
- Work schedule: Regular schedule Monday-Friday starting at 9am with additional availabilities evening and weekend, as needed (projects, updates);
- Physical mobility is required where the incumbent must be able to walk up/down the stairs, to lift, pull objects weighing up to 10 Kg, to work in a seated position for lengthy periods of time;
- Valid Class 5 permit and access to a car would constitute an asset in order to service other sites in Montreal
