IT Support Technician
The IT Support Technician serves as a technical expert for the development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks. This dynamic position works with every department and is responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance and improving the efficiency of the work of the staff through the use of technology.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Setup and maintain end user devices and all applicable peripherals with their associated operating systems and software.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of servers, network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, wireless access points, telecommunication equipment and UPS.
- Answer, prioritize, and respond to requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies as well as all telecommunications issues.
- Administer, add, move, and change requests, maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Perform system backups and recovery. Assist in the planning and implementation of Disaster Recovery exercises.
- Install and maintain containers and server applications.
- Write technical specifications and documentation.
Experience and Qualifications
- Related Post-Secondary education.
- 1-year equivalent systems support (hardware and software) experience.
- Demonstratable mechanical aptitude and capabilities.
- Proficient with iOS and Android.
- Windows network administration in a domain environment.
- Effectively communicate with co-workers both verbally and in writing.
- Detail oriented, with good organizational skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite.
- Independent worker that thrives without constant supervision.
- Flexibility to pivot quickly with shifting goals of team and organization.
- Willingness to learn, collaborate, cooperate, and develop skills on an ongoing basis.
- Programming knowledge, especially c, c++ or c# is an asset.
