Hours: 20 per week for 30 weeks per year plus additional hours

Based: Various Lifelong Learning centres

Role Overview:

Working as part of the Learning Support team within the Lifelong Learning Service, you will work alongside tutors to facilitate the inclusion of supported learners in all aspects of the learning experience. You will support learners across a range of learning programmes enabling them to fully access provision.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to learners in accordance with their identified needs.
  • Plan support and regularly evaluate learner progress and update and complete relevant systems, forms and monitoring records.
  • Develop, request and utilise appropriate resources to enable learners to fully participate in the learning programme.
  • Comply with all service policies including those relating to Safeguarding and carry out appropriate risk assessments for learners.

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • The ability and experience to establish a person-centred approach to develop a rapport and good trusting relationship with learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work alongside the learner, tutor and Learning Support Manager.
  • Excellent organisational skills will be needed to agree, develop and manage the provision of appropriate learning support and resources.
