Aerodyne Industries is currently seeking a Jr. Mechanical Engineer to join our team supporting the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. At GSFC, Aerodyne Industries provides engineering services for the branches within the Mechanical Systems Division of the GSFC Applied Engineering and Technology Directorate (AETD) as well as for many flight projects at GSFC.
Role includes the following duties in support of a Class A flight mission:
- Support Integrated Modeling analyses; this includes:
o Work with Integrated Modeling team analysts to improve analysis processes, including processes for model diagnostics/statistics
o Perform analyses in support of Integrated Modeling objectives
- Support test design and implementation activities for both flight hardware requirements verification and model validation test objectives; this includes:
o Design development, fabrication, and assembly of required test Group Support Equipment
o Preparation of work instructions for test GSE development, implementation of test setups, and test execution
o Preparation of test plans and procedures
- Prepare written reports and presentation documenting activities and milestones and present during informal meetings and formal project reviews
- Prepare weekly and monthly status reports for the Integrated Modeling team
Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in mechanical engineering or equivalent- Up to 2 years related work experience.
- Experience performing or supporting systems analyses for aerospace flight projects; analysis examples include Structural-Thermal-Optical Performance (STOP), jitter (microvibrations), and material growth and impacts on optical performance and/or pointing control
- All candidates must meet the 22 CFR 120.15 definition of U.S. Persons
