As an SEN Support, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the care, attention, and tailored support required for their educational journey.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of students with SEN.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, delivering targeted interventions and adapting teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes a sense of belonging and encourages students to develop their skills and confidence.
- Assist in the implementation of strategies and accommodations outlined in students' IEPs, including modifications to curriculum, materials, and assessments.
- Monitor and track student progress, maintaining accurate records, and providing regular feedback to teachers and parents on individual achievements and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the SEN Coordinator and other support staff to implement effective behavior management techniques and ensure a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Relevant degree or certification in Special Education or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience working with students with SEN, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of various learning disabilities, developmental disorders, and other special educational needs.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and provide support within a team.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in SEN education.
