Security Services is part of Estates Services
The University Security Services maintain a safe and secure physical environment for staff, students and visitors to the University 24 hours, 365 day per year through our operational teams.
We provide a broad range of services that includes; a central alarm and CCTV monitoring service, intelligence-led security patrols, mobile response to incidents, crime prevention, security for VIP visits, major University ceremonial occasions and student demonstrations.
Our support services team offer a range of administrative and specialised services that includes; personnel security screening, security training for staff, crime awareness briefings, crime prevention and reduction by design, reassurance, victim care, welfare support to staff, students and visitors.

Estates Services is responsible for the management and strategic direction of Oxford University's functional and commercial estate. With a broad and diverse remit that includes;
Management of the University’s laboratory and teaching facilities, offices, museums, and libraries, housing for graduate students and staff, the University Parks and Wytham Woods.
The development of capital building projects, repairs and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure, programmes of refurbishment, replacement and minor works and reactive maintenance, and managing environmental sustainability.

About the Role
As Support Services Operational Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the operational teams by providing accurate and detailed information on the operational data base through effective customer engagement.
The key areas of responsibility in this role fit together and work in partnership, operational support and customer service, together they create a variety of responsibilities. Responsibilities include continuous administration of the operational incident management data base, Command and Control (C&C) as essential support to our operational teams in their delivery of safety and security to the University. Prompt responses to customer enquiries, and customer engagement, producing and maintaining service level agreements.
The analysis of statistical data captured on C&C, is used to provide reports that support managers with the strategic direction for operational response. This data also helps identify issues that arise and is used to engage with customers to support problem solving in relation to department safety and security.
The operational teams utilise a variety of equipment to aid in the delivery of security, an example is the biometric key management system. This role has responsibility for maintaining accurate records for all elements associated with key management, including arrangements with customers for keys to be available to ensure access to buildings in an emergency.

About You
You will have the ability to prioritise activity and be responsive to changes in operational requirements. You will be able to follow processes and direction, also be self-motivated and use your initiative when setting priorities.
You will have excellent organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and have the highest level of integrity and confidentiality when dealing with personal, customers and business information.
The ideal candidate will have a meticulous and methodical approach to recording and maintaining data with the ability to respond quickly to requests for information to aid operational responses.
You will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to develop a good rapport with operational colleagues and customers at all levels through effective communication.
You will be competent in the use of web based IT and Microsoft office packages including Word, Excel, MS Teams, Nexus 365 and Outlook.
