Working hours – 37.5 hours per week - We provide 24/7 support to some people, so you will need to have flexibility to work shifts, including some waking nights, weekends and bank holidays.

A full UK driving licence is desirable for this role.

The two houses that make up Clementi Court are home to seven adults with profound, multiple disabilities and is filled with lots of fun and laughter. We thrive on providing person-centred active support and encourage this throughout everything we do.
Their team supports them in a way that gives them as much choice and control over their lives as possible. Close attention is paid to ensure that their health, social and educational needs are met and they each have a positive behaviour support plan which is closely followed.
A professional qualification in health, education or social care is preferred but is not essential. In addition, you will ideally have previous experience supporting individuals within a social care, education or health environment. We want you to be a compassionate and friendly individual, who shares our Values.
What matters most is a positive attitude to life and a desire to support people to live their life with as much independence, choice, dignity and control as possible. You will need to have good listening skills and a practical, caring approach. Computer literacy is a necessity, as the role requires you to retrieve and record information using a variety of IT systems. You must also be confident gathering information and using this alongside your experience to improve practice. Some report writing will also be required. The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, listening to and supporting your colleagues is essential.

What will you be doing?
The purpose of your role is to give the highest possible standards of support to individuals with a learning disability, autism, challenging behaviour and/or complex needs. Your responsibilities are varied and no two days are the same. As well as providing physical and emotional support you may be needed to help with household tasks and personal care as well as supporting individuals with healthcare needs, e.g. taking medication. You will support with sensory needs and help people to engage in everyday home, social and leisure interests, reaching goals like travelling or holidays and working positively with their families and friends. This is all according to their personal choice.
Your person-centred approach will enable people to have choices about their own lives. You will work with Hft’s Positive Behaviour Support Team to deliver a service model that promotes and reflects evidence-based practice.
