3rd Line Support Engineer

Job Description

Every Cylinder is working in partnership with a Chorley-based IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) seeking a 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their helpdesk team.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within an IT helpdesk environment, with a strong background in troubleshooting tickets and supporting customers. This role would suit an experienced IT Engineer already working at a 3rd Line level or an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer looking to progress to the next level in their career.

You will be responsible for resolving escalations from the 2nd Line Support team, troubleshooting complex tickets and have the opportunity to be directly involved in client project work.

Required Technical Knowledge

  • Windows 10/11 Desktop Administration
  • Office 365 Administration
  • Active Directory User and Group Policy Management
  • Windows Server Infrastructure
  • Experience with cloud technologies, Azure/AWS
  • Hyper V/VMware setup, configuration and support
  • Network Troubleshooting, including DNS/DHCP/IP
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery experience
  • Experience working within an IT Helpdesk Environment
  • Experience in monitoring and maintaining systems and networks
  • Experience with the installation and configuration of systems
  • Experience in diagnosing faults on both hardware and software
