Job description
Summary
From January 2023 until March 2024 the Council is taking part in a four-day working week trial. A four-day week is when full-time staff work one less day per week (four days instead of five) but still get paid the same salary. It is all about getting the same amount of work done and being as productive as possible. It is not the same as compressed hours, which is working the traditional 37-hour week over four long days. A four-day week for a full-time employee at the Council will consist of 30 hours. For part time staff, the amount of hours reduced would be calculated via a pro-rata reduction. A helpful way of explaining this arrangement is that staff will need to get 100% of their work done, in 80% of the time, for 100% of their salary. The purpose of this trial is to better support the health and wellbeing of our colleagues, while still delivering an excellent service to our residents.
The opportunity exists for the right candidate to join the support services of the Property Services Team on a Maternity Cover basis for 1 year. The Support section will deliver key clerical and administrative services across the whole of the Property Services section, covering asset management, compliance documentation, process administration, payments, responsive maintenance, and planned works contracts.
The post offers an opportunity for the right person with drive and vision to fulfill a flexible and comprehensive role across Property Services to an excellent standard that meets tenants’ needs and aspirations. We are looking for someone with sound knowledge that is seeking an opportunity to further develop their skills and career. You will need to be people-centred, well organised and share our commitment to providing dynamic and progressive services through innovation and forward thinking.
Enthusiasm, adaptability and resilience are key requirements, and the opportunity exists for further career development through gaining relevant qualifications. If you feel that you have the drive and vision to develop the role to its full potential we would like to hear from you.
The Council offers hybrid working, with a mix of working from our Cambourne offices and from home.
As an organisation we believe that our people are our greatest assets. We know how important it is to find a job where you feel valued but also have the flexibility to allow you to balance your work/family commitments in an organisation that offers a competitive benefits package including:
- Local Government Pension Scheme
- Free on-site parking at the Cambourne Office
- Shopping discounts
- Employee Assistance programme-providing advice and counselling
- Development opportunities as well as ongoing training
