SUPPLY MANAGER
In order to ensure that our customers look good and feel great, it is essential that our shops are well stocked throughout the year. The Supply Teams are integral and responsible for ensuring that we order the right products from our suppliers and then manage the supply of these products through the supply chain process from our warehouses into our shops, in the right quantities, on time or when our customer requires them.
Our Supply Management roles are critical to the success of the Boots UK business and each Supply Manager manages a complex global supply chain for a significant area of the Boots UK inventory.
Our customers deserve the very best service and it is the responsibility of the Supply team to manage the end to end product supply journey, from suppliers to our new award winning Stores Service Centre and then out to our stores ensuring we always deliver first class customer service, meeting demand, maximising on-shelf availability, so service right first time and on-time.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- You will work as an integral part of a category team, delivering exceptional standards of service for our stores and our customers whilst also optimising working capital and ensuring end to end supply chain efficiency.
- Strong Impact and influence skills are essential in order to influence and manage this trade –off effectively, as well as a high degree of cross-functional working, both internally with merchandising and marketing teams and externally with our numerous suppliers.
- You will manage and lead a large team of Assistant Supply Managers, so a proven track record of performance management, development and leadership is essential.
- Supported by our best practice and training team, you will play an active role in developing, coaching and continuously improving supply chain best practices.
- You will also be expected to contribute to the category strategy and develop and deliver the supply business plan that supports that strategy.
- You will be responsible for improving the performance and capability of the suppliers that are critical to the success of the category, through regular reviews against KPI’s, leading and facilitating improvement teams, and implementing changes to processes and ways of working.
We offer our Support Office team members a flexible, hybrid working approach based upon empowerment, accountability, care and trust which includes a balanced mix of remote and office-based working - this will be discussed with you as part of the application process.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE
- Great interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work towards tight deadlines.
- Be numerate and able to interpret data to make decisions, with a high degree of accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
- The role demands a good understanding of end-to-end supply chain management, and an ability to anticipate the effects of their own and their team’s actions on the Company and our customer, so knowledge of stock management process and systems is essential.
- Experience of leading a team and working cross functionally and the ability to develop and implement Category plans.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE
- Typically a graduate or equivalent experience of Logistics Operations or Supply, with a proven track record of success.
- Experience of managing a budget and working to financial targets and other KPIs
