The Role :
Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is searching for a Vertical Lift – Supply Chain Planning & Integration (SCP&I) Manager in Gosport, UK. This role will be to lead the Vertical Lift SCP&I team, responsible for Strategic Supply Chain support to the BDUK Vertical Lift business unit responsible for Inventory Planning and Demand Forecasting, and coordination of new business proposals.
The Vertical Lift business unit is an area of significant growth within BDUK and this role represents a great opportunity to develop the supply chain strategies to support this growth, grow and develop the team and build a strong and capable UK supply chain to meet the needs of the Vertical Lift business and Customer requirements. This role will report to the Senior Manager for BDUK Vertical Lift Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
First Line Manager responsible for Vertical Lift Planning & Integration tasks across all programme execution and/or proposal preparation. The role will also be responsible for the continued development of a Planning & Integration capability in Vertical Lift.
Lead a team of approximately 12, with scope for further growth with responsibility for the team member’s growth and professional development.
Manage team members performing activities related to development of new business proposals and inventory modelling and demand planning for the RAF Chinook aircraft.
People Management - staffing, employee development, coordinating employee training and supporting all programme and functional objectives.
Contract award, management of contract results, including provision of material replenishment and repair estimates, and conformance to landmark timelines for new business proposals.
Adept practitioner of Seek, Speak and Listen/Psychological Safety principles across all activities whether people or programme focused.
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, suppliers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
The identification and implementation of Best and Emergent Practices in collaboration with the Functional Excellence team.
Delivering cost reduction on annual basis through the delivery of improvements and efficiencies through the Vertical Lift supply chain
Essential Requirements and Experiences
Minimum of 5 years Supply Chain experience, ideally in management and leadership roles.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to operate at all levels within an organisation to manage stakeholders including Suppliers and Customers
Experience in leading proposals, contract terms and conditions development, and negotiation efforts
Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience supporting and leading cross-functional teams
Ability to be self-directed in work and/or previous experience in a self-directed role
Strong business acumen and adept problem solving ability
High attention to detail and shown ability to manage multiple, challenging priorities simultaneously
Ability to obtain UK SC security clearance
Communication skills and customer focus are critical to be successful in the role
Desired Qualifications And Experience
University degree preferred
Active UK security clearance
Experience supporting proposal preparation for UK government contracts
