Supply Chain Systems Analyst
Purpose of role: Support our Inbound supply chain through the management and development of existing and new Supply Chain systems. Ensuring existing systems and processes are optimised and delivering efficiencies on service delivery (visibility and timeliness and cost. Develop processes and systems to cater for changing business priorities. Involvement in all stages of a project lifecycle, from solution design through testing to implementation and on-going support.
Reports to: Systems & Operations Excellence Manager
Location: Islip or Reading – this role will require extensive travel.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support and development of applications that plan and execute international supplier inbound movements (FOB / FCA / DAP) and internal international freight movements (Depot to Depot movements).
- Support development teams in definition of new business processes and system configuration, on project by project basis. Business Process mapping the ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ processes.
- Maintenance of Solution Design Specifications to ensure changes and specific configuration is clearly documented.
- Manage configuration change through development.
- Work with Primark ICT and other 3rd party partners to define changes and manage structured releases through release note process.
- Manage business change with our partners internally & externally from discovery to implementation as part of new or amended business processes.
- Provide systems support as required around change and project implementation to ensure code/configuration releases land with no service disruption.
- Develop and maintain full understanding of global supply chain applications and associated 3rd party integration.
- Develop and maintain understanding of key data flows to and from key Supply Chain applications covering international freight movements both supplier inbound and internal network movements.
- SQL/Other Query writing experience to access operational data to support Continuous Improvement (CI) activity.

- Support management and document change control process.
- Interface to ICT Department for 3rd party support escalations
- Act as SME for International Supply chain applications
- Manage change requests through user requirements, specification, development, testing documentation updates & implementation
- Work within operational and project teams to support Supply Chain development activity
- Respond to escalations and provide functional support as needed
- Process review/ Process improvement knowledge and experience
- Training – supporting of rolling new ways of working/ change in processes with the formulation of work instructions for users to follow and other supporting documentation.
Monitoring and Measuring
- Support provision of ad hoc data requests from SC systems
- Ensure that Work Instructions provide clarity to process with the formulation of work instructions for users to follow and other supporting documentation.
People
- Work with project team and operational managers to deliver ‘right first time’ solutions
- Develops effective relationships & foster positive working relationships, is sensitive to cultural differences.
- Works with 3rd party software vendors to ensure systems solutions meet customer’s needs.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
- Experience of international multi modal freight movements (Road/Sea/Air) in fast moving retail environment.
- Familiar with international trade and working with 3rd Party freight management providers
- Experience of working in an international retail environment
- Thorough knowledge of critical path management and global trade software solutions
- Experience on SQL and XML basic query logic
- Inbound Supply Chain Application Knowledge across critical path management including Customs and Duty
- Strong Process knowledge and understanding across International logistics
- Rigorous and analytical approach to problem solving with the ability to operate under pressure in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to deliver robust and sustainable process improvement solutions
- Good communication skills, with ability to frame ideas and concepts in easily understandable terms
