Supplier Manager / Vendor Manager
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid Working (2 days from the office)
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supplier / Vendor Manager to join us on permanent basis. This is a new role recently created to work alongside the Senior Management Team within the West Brom in recognition that our continued strategy to outsource services where appropriate requires increased capability across the business.
The Supplier Manager will work alongside the Senior Leadership team to ensure that partner and supplier relationships deliver the best value for the Society and they align with the align with the Society’s strategic direction and values.
- Create a Society sourcing strategy to support the overall strategic direction and values.
- Lead and monitor relationships, ongoing performance and contractual commitments of our Suppliers to mitigate risk, manage cost and drive value
- Lead RFI / RFP processes from inception through to successful conclusion.

Engage and support colleagues across the Society to define and strengthen supplier relationships and increase capability across the group.
What will you bring?
Experience in managing 3rd party suppliers and contracts in a regulated environment.- Effective problem solver, ability to quickly assess technical escalations.
- High level of communication influencing and negotiation skills, coupled with an ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation both internally and externally.
- High level of commercial knowledge with sound business acumen.
To be successful in this role you will have a thorough understanding of Procurement. You will be able to create a best practice model for partner outsourcing and service delivery. You will need to be credible with business stakeholders at senior levels within the organisation and be able to demonstrate your knowledge of commercial and contractual frameworks to deliver value to our members.
Key responsibilities are:
- Actively assist with the introduction of right fit sourcing principles and processes for vendors.
- Ensure a solid framework is in place for critical suppliers supporting the Important Business Services to ensure we are managing our most critical risks.
- Liaise with key internal stakeholders to identify and manage a pipeline of sourcing activities.
- Proactively lead and or support sourcing activities (Inc renewals) partnering with internal stakeholders to gather, assess and challenge business requirements.
- Lead supplier negotiations ensuring value for money outcomes.
- Foster strong credible partnerships with all internal stakeholders.
- Help define and introduce robust supplier management processes that ensure consistent management of our supplier’s contracts and performance.
- Identify and act on opportunities and mitigate risk across the group and look for areas of potential consolidation of suppliers.
- Monitor and drive compliance of the suppliers with obligations within the agreement and alignment to Regulatory requirements.

Strong procurement, contract and supplier management capability.- Experience of material outsourcing criteria within Financial Services environment.
- A strong self-motivation, tenacity and a strong desire to make improvements.
- Ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders of all levels, balancing challenge with pragmatism.
- Ability to tailor communications and present information clearly for a variety of different audiences.
- A good understanding of standard commercial terms, contract constructs, and the negotiation challenges associated with these.
- Proven negotiation experience and analysis skills.
- An understanding of software and licensing suppliers and principles including Cloud; SAAS; PAAS and experience with the like of Oracle; Azure and AWS.
- Confidence to work with ambiguity.
- Flexibility and resilience.
- Relevant professional procurement qualifications.
- Effective problem solver, ability to quickly assess technical escalations.
