The Business CIO: Supplier & Cost Analyst role supports the implementation of Business CIO strategic and execution plans, working with cross functional teams in finance and HR. This role enables the provision of statistical analysis and insight and ensures commercial alignment with Business CIO objectives: with a specific focus on cost / cost transformation and supplier management.
Through the collation, analysis and understanding of complex Business CIO information, data and resources the role holder will be contributing to the formulation of business plans that align and drive the business strategy. This role is integral to enabling cost and supplier control and will enable the realization of the Business CIO medium term plan and our drive to becoming an optimal and productive business.
This role will include a hybrid working model.
What you’ll be doing
- Monitors the reporting metrics critical for tracking and managing the business. This will include daily weekly, monthly, and quarterly revenue, consumption, and other key metrics.
- Collates data and performs regression and other statistical analyses to help identify meaningful data relationships, key performance indicators, and key risk indicators.
- Influences stakeholders across BT Group to build financially-sound, executable and data-driven plans.
- Participates in the construction of innovative statistical and financial models to analyse new aspects of business performance.
- Performs the analysis of complex business problems, gathering of data and external research, and perform analysis to develop recommendations for senior leadership.
- Supports the delivery of strategic and transformational projects and programmes including sharing recommendations on optimal structure/processes and supporting thought leadership for various workstreams.
- Works on identifying cost allocations, be they by supplier or by application, identifying trends and hot spots that offer opportunity to be optimized.
- Supports on strategic and operational projects through engagement and project management support.
- Supports the continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.
You'll have the following skills and experience
- Experience of financial forecasting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Advanced experience in Excel including data analysis, complex formulae, and data visualization.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools, ideally Qlik but can also include Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Desirable experience in Ariba & SAP
