About the Role

We have an exiting opportunity for an Education Manager to lead our team of committed Tutors delivering the HITZ study programme in partnership with Premiership Rugby over six sites within the UK.

The HITZ Education Manager position requires remote working, with your base being your home address. As well as contacting our partners remotely on a weekly/ bi weekly basis, to fulfil the requirements of the role you will also be required to travel to other locations within the UK to visit all six sites each quarter as a minimum (travel expenses will be reimbursed).

As the HITZ Education Manger you will be responsible for:

1. Team Management:- Develop and maintain productive working relationships within the team and maintain sound employee relations. Provide clear direction and support to enable employees to deliver and exceed their key objectives and targets, providing clarity and understanding of individual role responsibility within their designated area.

2. Managing performance: Manage and maximise the performance of ESFA Study Programme contracts within the designated area of responsibility. Support and encourage the proactivity of staff in maximising learner recruitment, retention, success rates and ensuring progression targets are met or exceeded. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and performance management by exceeding learner, contractual and stakeholder expectations.

3. Resource Management: Actively support the management of both people and physical resources, to enable the delivery of quality learning programmes within contractual and legislative requirements. Ensure that centres provide a safe and secure environment, which promotes the welfare of staff, learners, and all visitors. Ensure health and safety requirements, equality and diversity, safeguarding and prevent are understood, actively promoted and followed by all.

3. Quality: Lead, coach and mentor all staff to enable them to deliver and develop meaningful learning opportunities, while working closely with the Quality Team to embed quality improvements. This will need to lead to timely, successful outcomes within the quality framework.

What is HITZ?

HITZ is Premiership Rugby’s Flagship Education and Employability Programme. HITZ uses Rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship to get NEET young people back into education, training, apprenticeships and/or employment, and is delivered nationally by Premiership Rugby’s 13 shareholder clubs.

Safeguarding responsibilities:

  • This role will involve your team having daily contact with learners, who will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children and/or vulnerable adults.
  • All staff and volunteers have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, and/or vulnerable adults for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.

About You

The successful HITZ Education Manager will enjoy working remotely and travelling within the UK to manage our partnership with Premiership Rugby. The successful Education Manager will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • Strategic outlook, practical team player; knows how to get the job done and isn’t afraid to roll up sleeves and get involved in the delivery.
  • Proven, successful leadership skills, managing and motivating a team to ensure they effectively meet the needs of individual learners and support their success on the programme of learning.
  • Experience of setting SMART targets, recording, and monitoring individual support plans.
  • Ability to be successful in an agile environment, to be flexible in style and approach; to pivot easily when required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and deliver tangible results.
  • Full UK drivers’ licence.
  • Flexibility to travel as required with the role around the UK to visit our six sites at least each quarter.

You will also have the following qualifications:

  • Management & Leadership or equivalent experience (essential)
  • Teaching / Assessing qualifications (essential)
  • Safeguarding (desirable)
  • Health & Safety (desirable)
