We are looking for a Care Professional who has experience with Dementia / Alzheimer's , and has a happy and calm disposition. Willing to think on their feet, and has a supportive, caring, gentle nature.

Our client is very restless at night, so you will be awake regularly.

Client Descriptio

I am originally from Scotland and was Married. My Husband has sadly passed. He was a former diplomat from the Foreign Office which meant that we spent time living in many other countries including Switzerland, the Netherlands, and also Columbia. Although my house was bought when our son, was 8 years old, our travels meant that we only lived in it permanently since 1996. Due to my dementia, I sometimes struggle to remember that this is my home and I often try to pack my things away thinking I'm going to be traveling again soon. During these times the care professionals have found that distraction techniques work for me and I can be led to alternative, more settled activities, such as reading the newspaper or talking about the latest thing to have happened in the world news. I often think I am living in other countries and taking me for a walk in the local area seems to help me with orientation as to where I am. Care professionals report that the gradual loss of many past memories due to my Alzheimer's diagnosis in 2016 causes less confusion now (June 2022) and I am feeling generally more settled.
My son is married and lives in Malmesbury in Wiltshire. He tries to visit me regularly but the pressures of work mean that it is not always easy for him to get down.
My daughter is also married and has two daughters. They too live some distance away as they are near Cirencester
Formerly I was active in women’s rights, specifically as chair of an international NGO working in this field. An NGO is defined as a non-profit organization that operates independently of any government, typically one whose purpose is to address a social or political issue.
I have traveled extensively both with my late husband and in my own right.
I am interested in current affairs, literature, and gardening and like to see a purpose in the things that I do.
In the past I have enjoyed reading the Guardian newspaper, this isn't happening so much anymore but I still enjoy discussing general news.
