Health Data Branch manages health data through access to authoritative business driven data, quality control processes and integrated data solutions, business relevant data products and tools and education, training and consulting services related to data products and standards.

What can I expect to do in this role?
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will:- Provide project leadership, business and data analysis expertise in the development and implementation of multiple concurrent branch data, data integration and information management projects
- Perform business and data analysis to evaluate client's business goals to ensure future data integration and data collections projects align with client needs and data management best practices
- Create business proposals, assess costs, benefits and risks to develop and deliver total solutions for review and approval by client
- Evaluate technology solutions and opportunities to ensure alignment with Ministry program area needs and requirements
How do I qualify?
Business Analysis
- You have the ability to understand legislative, policy and program needs and translate them into data and business requirements that help support business objectives, program priorities and actionable insights
- You can liaise with clients in the formulation of business analysis and architecture plans to ensure that they are integrated and scalable to support future growth
- You can ensure a common understanding between business, data and technical areas involved in implementing and understanding the change from the client's perspective
- You can prepare detailed business requirements, use cases, process models, gap analysis, options papers and data models
Analytical and Problem-Solving
- You can conceptualize and evaluate data and IM options, solutions and performance metrics
- You can develop recommendations to meet legislative and business needs
Project Management
- You can lead projects to developing data solutions and provide expertise and guidance to business and technical teams
- You have project management experience to plan, organize and schedule work, establish priorities and oversee project activities from conception to completion within set timelines
Communication and Interpersonal
- You have demonstrated consultation and negotiation skills to define needs, manage expectations, balance and address competing issues to support project timelines
- You have strong written and oral communication skills to prepare submissions, requirements and planning documents, reports, briefing materials and correspondence
- You can interview clients and explain data and information management concepts to audiences who may not be familiar with data concepts and terminology
- You can develop and present proposals to clients and senior management
Data Management
- You have the ability to acquire and apply data management best practices and current and emerging technology requirements to ensure alignment with corporate and industry standards
