Job Description & Summary

A career in our Financial Services Tax practice, within Corporate Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. You’ll also help organisations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties, as well as providing advice on tax implications of deals.

Our team helps our Financial Services clients navigate the frequently changing and complex national and international tax environment related to stringent capital requirements, management of operational tax risks, and tax implications of investing in different jurisdictions. You’ll help our clients with their tax structuring while helping to address the challenges of the continuously changing tax world, both locally and globally.

5 weeks to work, shine, and maybe secure a job offer!

Eligibility

If you come from Jersey or Guernsey and you're at university or in your final year of your A Levels, BTEC or equivalent, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your skills and confidence for five weeks at PwC CI. You’ll do this whilst earning an ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 2) professional qualification with our training provider - with all costs for study material and exam fees covered by the Firm. If you perform well you could finish your internship with a view to returning as an intern over future summers, and ultimately, securing a firm job offer as a permanent member of staff once school/university has ended.

  • It doesn’t matter what you are currently studying, however you’ll need to have good academic grades and be on your way to completing your A Levels (or equivalent) or university degree
  • You’ll need to be residentially qualified (the CI internship programme is only open to local people seeking employment in the CI)
  • Finally, you’ll need to be able to show how you’ve used your initiative and team-working skills, and show you’re genuinely committed to this career path

What to expect

As an intern, you'll enjoy much the same experience and opportunities as our full-time trainee recruits, and gain exposure to a wide range of work and clients all whilst studying and completing a professional qualification.

You won't be thrown in at the deep end, we run an induction training course for all our interns, and you’ll get specific technical training that’ll give you all the skills you'll need. It'll be a steep learning curve and you'll certainly feel stretched – but you’ll also have all the support you need to help you make a valuable impact and gain experiences that will take you forward in your career. As well as a 'buddy' to answer your questions, you’ll have regular feedback on your performance.

During your internship you will be based in our offices for three days a week, and at our training provider’s premises for the remaining two days.

What you’ll gain

Our internships give you a real-life view of what a trainee career with PwC would be like. You'll find out first-hand if this is the career for you. If it is – and you perform well – you could finish your internship, not only with a professional qualification but also with a job offer in the future, and some great new skills and insights that will mean you’ll hit the ground running if you join us as a trainee.

Application process

We’ve a limited number of internships, so if you are interested please apply now and we will interview candidates for the places in early spring. The internships run from the final week in June for five weeks.
