Summer Internship - Mortgage Administration Coventry

Coventry Building Society
Full Time Coventry 11.26 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

About The Role

We’re proud to announce we’re running our Summer Internship Programme again this year. This is a great opportunity to gain some hands on, paid work experience in one of our Mortgage Departments. This role is based in our Head Office in Binley, Coventry dealing with our mortgage customers via email and administration requests. (The programme is only available to students in years 12 or 13 at college or 6th form)

If you complete the programme you’ll be involved in:

  • Updating account records, understanding any queries and inputting data
  • Learning about mortgages and working with mortgage brokers / intermediaries
  • Understanding the business to business world

The Internship Programme will start on 26th July until the 1st September and during this time you’ll work full time Monday to Friday. This is a great opportunity to understand how we work and many of our interns have gone on to secure part time Saturday roles to fit around their study at the end of the programme.

How will you develop?

We want you to get the most out of your internship and will provide you with enough training so you have the knowledge and skills to succeed in your role. Your first week will involve you learning all about Coventry Building Society, our processes and how we work. You’ll then put your knowledge in to practice with the support of a buddy who will be on hand to answer any questions along the way. Your manager will also provide you with regular feedback and support to make sure you’re getting the most out of your programme.

About You

We’re looking for individuals who share our values and our passion for putting people first. If you like building relationships with new people and have good attention to detail, this could be the programme for you.

You'll need to have a positive, friendly attitude and excellent communication skills. We’re looking for people who have the confidence to engage with a diverse variety of people, who are customer focused and have the ability to be accurate and deal with our customer’s transactions.

We want you to get the most out of the opportunity and as it’s only on for 6 weeks it’s important you don’t have any more than a couple of days holiday during this time, with none of this during the first couple of weeks as these are the key training days. The programme is only available to students in years 12 or 13 at college or 6th form.

Our values are:

  • Caring – Helpful, Thoughtful, Kind
  • Ambitious – Aspirational, Brave, Agile
  • Responsible – Ethical, Reliable, Trusted
  • Empowering – Inspiring, Enabling, Confident
  • Straightforward – Simple, Easy, Clear

Please consider these values when answering your application questions.

The selection process will involve a review of your CV and application questions, online testing (TBA) and an interview with a couple of our friendly Managers
