OBJECTIVE:

As Studio Manager, you will oversee and manage the day to day studio operations whilst also managing in studio teams to ensure we are building a strong local community and delivering the best possible client experience. This role requires a strong balance between maintaining best practice in both studio operations and people management.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

CLIENT EXPERIENCE:

  • Understand the brand vision and ensure this is lived and demonstrated in the studio at all times
  • Partner with the Client Experience team to create a strong local community
  • Assist with client queries and maintain the highest level of service at all times
  • Work studio desk shifts to showcase the best of brand skills and mentor in studio teams
  • Deliver in-studio client experience projects
  • Understand and use client feedback to identify areas of improvement or opportunity
  • Build and maintain partnerships with businesses in your local area and encourage sweatworking's (corporate classes) or team classes
  • Manage private or special events within your studio or external pop ups to increase brand awareness
  • Deliver all marketing campaigns within studios effectively and efficiently

OPERATIONS

  • Oversee the day to day operations of your studio
  • Deliver studio targets when applicable
  • Order and maintain stock levels for all studio supplies, inclusive of Fuel Bar, Retail & the Red Room apparatus
  • Manage studio schedules for in studio teams. Ensure shifts are approved accordingly and the studio has adequate staffing coverage
  • Complete studio 'walkarounds' on a daily basis and report issues to the operations team
  • Proactively check all areas of Health and Safety and ensure all records are up to date
  • Approve shifts and manage studio monthly payroll
  • Adhere to financial studio budgets and drive cost saving initiatives

LEADERSHIP

  • Monitor work quality of Front Desk, Fuel Bar, and Facilities departments to ensure that they are meeting Barry's standards of experience, hospitality, and customer service.
  • Deliver all company communications to the relevant employees within your studio
  • Manage the recruitment, training and development process for Front of House and Facilities staff for your relevant studio
  • Address employee relations concerns and escalate to the General Manager if necessary
  • Educate staff on the Barry's handbook and promote a positive working environment
  • Complete probation reviews, yearly appraisals and address all development needs of your team
  • Recognise and develop talent within your team

CULTURE

  • Work to uphold Barry's community and culture standards, and live the company mission, vision, and values daily.
  • Represent the Barry's brand within the region and the local fitness community.
  • Lead your studio teams in participating in and enhancing the community within the region.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • At least 2 years experience within a similar management role
  • Assertive and clear style of communication
  • Strategic thinker
  • Strong delegation, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative to solve a range of problems that may arise.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and communicate across departments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and delegate work where necessary.
  • Excellent supervisory and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience developing, coaching, and mentoring diverse teams.
  • Understanding of the fitness, health and wellness industries.
  • Passion for the Barry's brand.

FURTHER INFORMATION

  • Your normal working hours are not variable; however, your working pattern will vary depending on the needs of the business. You will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours a week over Monday to Sunday between 5.30am and 11.30pm. You will be required to determine your working schedule and that of the Assistant Studio Manager/ or Studio Lead each week to ensure that there is full studio coverage and a point of contact throughout studio operating hours. This will include at least one open and one close each week.
  • This role includes weekend work.
  • You will be required to attend a weekly studio managers meeting in HQ
  • You will be required to attend monthly financial meetings
  • You may be required to work at marketing events outside of the studio when required
  • Other duties may be assigned on an ad hoc basis
