An exciting opportunity has arisen for a healthcare assistant in our new purpose built HMP & YOI Stirling! Our vision is to deliver trauma informed, person centred and safe & effective care to our patients.

This is a diverse role which involves the day to day delivery of a high standard of support to the nursing team whilst also working autonomously within competencies, to a population who have a complex range of mental health, physical, psychological, substance misuse and social problems whilst maintaining a high level of awareness of and compliance with security procedures within the prison setting.

The Healthcare Assistant is an integral role in the extensive multi disciplinary team, whose overall aim is to improve the physical, mental health and wellbeing of prisoners, to support rehabilitation and to contribute to the offender outcome strategy by supporting clinicians in their provision of high quality, effective and efficient care to individual patients at whatever their point of need is in their healthcare journey.

The ability to demonstrate high quality, person–centred care and good team working is essential. Keenness towards developing practice with appropriate and satisfactory clinical and interpersonal skills is necessary.
