The University of Hull has an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about improving the student experience. The Student Engagement and Transition Team within the Student Services Directorate collaborate with staff and students to enrich the student journey from pre-arrival to graduation and beyond. The team are integral to the proactive support of engagement and attendance monitoring aiding retention and student success. The team manage content and messaging for a number of systems used across the university that display information, advice, and guidance for students and staff. The team support, encourage and motivate students in managing the key transitions in their student journey.
This permanent full-time position will develop collaborative relationships with academic areas and professional services across the institution to ensure our applicants and on-programme students can easily find and access key information and support. The post will be integral to our institutional welcome and induction activity developing and promoting best practice to support student transition. The role holder will develop initiatives to enhance engagement and encourage students to access the wide range of opportunities and activities that can help to provide an exciting, successful, and well-rounded student journey.
Day to day the role holder will oversee the systems that host information supporting the transition from applicant to student, key messaging around engagement and attendance monitoring, and key academic processes. You will provide input into the monitoring and managing of student engagement and attendance, sharing best practice, developing initiatives, and implementing processes to ensure student engagement is central to the institution. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the institution you will develop and implement coordinated and consistent welcome and induction activities, particularly focusing on pre-arrival support and support for specific groups of students
