Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen at the University of Winchester within the department for Student Support and Success. The new dual role will attract colleagues eager to support learners from traditionally underrepresented student groups transition into higher education (via co-ordinating outreach and transition activities) and ultimately flourish in their time studying at Winchester (acting as a designated Student Life Adviser).
The successful candidate will have experience of working with 14-19 year olds, particularly those from widening participation backgrounds. With proven experience of multi-agency project management, particularly working with schools, colleges and community groups on outreach programmes and events. Ideally the successful applicant will also have experience of working in a pastoral, or student advice, role. However, additional training will be available. Importantly, the successful applicant will understand the needs and issues facing learners from widening participation backgrounds, especially in relation to participation in schools, further and higher education.
