Live-in PA /Support worker/ Driver required for Uni student in Loughborough
We are recruiting a PA (Personal Assistant) on behalf of our client, a 20-years-old Uni student, who is starting his 3rd year at Loughborough University.
Join his team of PA’s who provide his independent living support. This is a great opportunity to really help make a difference to our client’s personal achievements and university experience.
About Our Client
He is starting his 3rd year of Accounting and Finance Management at Loughborough University. He has a condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This is a muscle wasting condition which affects all of his muscles.
He is a full-time wheelchair user, but he doesn’t let this define his life, he is all about the whole University experience, going out with friends, late nights, being socially active.
He can do a lot for himself, when it comes to Personal care, Dressing, Cooking and University work, but would need help taking him to Uni is his car, Cleaning, and general support.
Our client is looking for a PA who can support him to enjoy his university life! That includes, supporting him to events, socialising with friends, supporting him with his swimming, hydrotherapy and taking him to meet his family and friends. There will be trips to London and back every few weeks.

This is also a flat mate type of role which goes far beyond simply care work, and includes all the fun things you'd expect a university student to be doing.
Our client is looking for like-minded individuals to assist him with:
Driving
Social Support
Daily Living
Housekeeping / Domestic duties
Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.
You must hold a full clean UK driving license as you will be driving our client's vehicle.
Shift Pattern: 3 days on/6 days off, Term-time only
Location: Loughborough Uni
Start Date: Sept 2023
Pay rate: £11 per hour or £264 per shift /£792 per 3 shifts
About You
You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client's care therefore full training in his particular needs is provided.
You will need:
·To be physically fit, calm, patient and caring
·Full UK driving licence - Essential.
·The ability to commit to shifts (days, nights, weekends etc) Must be Flexible
·To be Fluent in the English Language
·Enjoy Social events, work and University
·Can carry out domestic tasks such as cleaning, ironing, washing and Cooking
·Reliable and trustworthy
·Provide ‘on call’ cover for absent colleague
·Non-Smoker
·You must be able to respect our client's privacy and have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work.
·Good organisational skills and being able to work on your own initiative
·Have a good sense of humour
·A mature and responsible attitude
·Excellent hearing and communication skills
·Be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways.
You will be fully trained prior to starting, so previous experience of this type of work is not required.
You must be able to respect our client's privacy and have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work.
