You will help to drive the execution of our Supply Chain strategy, and to maintain world-class operating standards in how business as usual activity is delivered by the department. You will be responsible for owning, developing, and embedding best-in-class strategy & planning processes for the department. This will include management of the department calendar and key documentation, organisation of large-scale department events and stakeholder communications, tracking and reporting of departmental activity, as well as supporting the senior leadership to set the strategic direction and priorities of the department. You will also provide ad hoc analytical and/or administrative support for the department.
This role will require significant stakeholder management combined with strong analytical skills. You will be analysing and/or building raw data sets to establish clear visibility of all department activities and risks, and working to bring together a wide network of colleagues and partners behind aligned plans that will ensure priority activities are delivered successfully. The ability to embrace a team-working approach, collaborate with external partners, personal assistants, and business services teams alike, and build effective relationships are key to the success of the role. You will combine your strong academic record with an eagerness to learn and become a student of the business.
What will my accountabilities be?
You will own and manage the tracking and reporting of progress against the Supply Chain strategy, and the operational performance of the department. This will include:
- Maintenance of the department calendar including defining what meetings need to be tracked, ensuring all involved have full visibility of meetings and helping to define what activity and outputs are required of Supply Chain and delivered in a timely manner.
- Ownership and management of tracking and reporting on the progress of the Supply Chain strategy & priorities. This includes tracking and reporting on progress against the Supply Chain roadmap, team engagement survey results, required activity and actions ahead of meetings, and compliance with information requests.
- Aligning the UK&I Supply Chain and the wider McDonalds system; working closely with the McDonalds business (at a local and global level), our Suppliers, and our Franchisees, to ensure we have robust and resilient plans that deliver competitive advantage for our system.
- Ownership and management of the maintenance of department documentation. You will ensure high standards by coordinating effectively with colleagues to define what documentation is required, and that documentation is accurate and complete.
- Ownership and management of the delivery of priority department milestone events, including but not limited to Senior Leadership engagement events like the Supply Chain Conference, Supplier Plan to Win and team engagement events.
- Providing support that may be required across the full range of our cross-functional areas (including purchasing, sustainability, quality, food safety, and digital & logistics), a flexible and adaptable attitude is essential, as is the ability to support change within the business.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Strategy & Business Planning Senior Consultant, this role sits within our Strategy and Business Planning team; a small, fast-paced, high-performing and high-profile team responsible for powering world-class performance in the UK&I McDonalds Supply Chain.
