Job description

Are you insight driven? Are you able to help with prioritising, defining, and executing strategic initiatives? Can you contribute to high-quality strategic decisions at one of the largest health charities in the U.K.?

About the role

We're looking for a Strategy and Impact Analyst to join us and work with our team to improve the quality of cross-BHF strategic thinking and decision-making to accelerate the delivery of the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) strategy to 2030.

Our Strategy and Impact team works to keep the BHF focused on the biggest and most important issues on the horizon, playing a leading role in ensuring we remain fit for the future. We do this by working collaboratively across the organisation, helping to identify priorities; scope, develop and operationalise strategic initiatives that maximise our organisational impact; and track our organisational effectiveness.

You’ll play a key role providing support to the Heads of Strategy and managers for delivering activities, instigating and influencing in five key areas:

1. Futures, foresight and associated analysis to identify and assess future strategic challenges and opportunities for the BHF
2. Accelerated progression of the BHF’s strategic initiatives
3. Strategic planning to ensure robust, strategically aligned plans across the BHF
4. Strategic performance and impact to enable the organisation to have sight of, and challenge on, progress towards the delivery of the BHF’s Strategy to 2030
5. Support to the Chief Executive’s Office

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you must be prepared to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause. Most of our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office each week, on average.

Excited by the role, but not sure you tick every box? You may need a little more help balancing your work and home life, so please feel free to explore the flexibility you may need with us at the application or interview stage.

About you

You'll have a good understanding and application of strategic analysis, strategy development, strategic planning and strategy consulting principles.

With strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, you’ll have experience of conducting and presenting strategic analysis in a clear and concise manner and experience of supporting complex projects or programmes of work you'll enjoy working in a dynamic team.

You will have advanced quantitative and qualitative data handling skills including collation, manipulation, and visualisation. You'll also have experience in supporting complex projects/programmes and advanced report writing and presenting skills.

Able to think creatively, you'll have the ability to work well with people at all levels of the organisation and with various levels of knowledge and understanding of strategy, influencing them where needed and building consensus within a group.

With excellent time management and organisational skills you'll be able to work on multiple projects at a time.
