Job description

Dr. Martens is a globally recognisable and culturally influential British brand, with over 60 years of rich heritage. As brand custodians, we are lucky to work for a dynamic, thriving, and ethical business, with people from diverse backgrounds, who bring their true selves to work, and where anyone can grow their career.

We are guided by three core values that are at the heart of everything we do: be yourself, act courageously, and show you care. They make us who we are and inspire us to push boundaries, embrace our individuality, and stand up for what’s right.

THE GIG

We are seeking a motivated and experienced analyst to join our Strategy and Insight function. This newly created role is part of a small, high-performing team and will add depth and rigour to the team’s ability to analyse and interpret data from internal and external sources, enabling us to deliver actionable insights within our business.

The Strategy Analyst will support key strategic initiatives driven by the Strategy team, using an array of available information sources to create a more data-centric approach to problem-solving.

By delivering actionable insights and recommendations, you will directly influence our strategies for future seasons.

As our Strategy Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the robust, consistent, and timely delivery of our 15-market brand tracking survey; working with our survey providers to identify and resolve any data queries.
  • Collecting, analysing, and interpreting large and complex data sets from various sources e.g., to help with market sizing, competitor analysis and consumer segmentation.
  • Ensuring quality of data inputs from both internal and external sources; providing the appropriate level of quality checks.
  • Implementing data models and statistical analyses to uncover insights.
  • Identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies to generate actionable insights.
  • Creating reports, dashboards, and visualisations to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Staying updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualisation techniques.
  • Collaborating with and listening to the questions and needs of stakeholders across the business to understand business needs, contribute to appropriate hypotheses and provide relevant data-led insights.

It goes without saying that everyone at Dr. Martens is part of a team. Everyone is expected to take on other duties as needed to respond to the needs of the business.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART

Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Proven experience as an Insight or Strategy Analyst or from a Strategy Consulting or quantitative market research background, with a strong track record of delivering impactful insights.
  • Preference for bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ideally Power BI
  • Highly numerate, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and experience with statistical analysis techniques
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex insights to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • The ability to use creativity with data visualisation tools.

  • Welcome to the family free pair of Docs
  • 65% off all Docs
  • Award-winning ‘Buy As You Earn’ Dr. Martens share plan
  • Private healthcare
  • A dedicated culture team
