
Orthopaedic Plaster Technician Sunderland, North East England, England
Job description
To be accountable for all aspects of care of patients requiring plaster casts/splints/braces and support registered professional staff and colleagues in providing high quality care and assistance to patients and their carers during their attendance/admission to the department and to other areas within the organisation as appropriate i.e. theatres, so that patients receive safe care in an environment appropriate to their needs and that privacy and dignity is maintained at all times. To work as an autonomous practitioner within the service, compliant with local guidelines and prescribed care by Consultant Required to direct/instruct/supervise Trainee Orthopaedic Technicians and other clinical staff as appropriate i.e. medical and nursing staff, demonstrating high standards of casting application.
To actively seek the views of patients / carers on their understanding of their care needs to ensure the patients experience is positive. To plan the workload of the department to ensure effective and efficient utilisation of resources on a daily basis, organising staff cover arrangements where necessary. To be flexible to the needs of the service and patients at all times, ensuring a streamlined, efficient service.
