As a leader at the council, you’ll help us to navigate a variety of complex challenges to meet the needs of the people of Leicester. You’ll have a flexible approach to working location to include office, site based such as our children centres and home based, fitting the needs of the service. Typically, Monday to Friday office hours with flexibility as require.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work in collaboration key partners including education settings, police, as well as colleagues regionally to ensure that everyone under your remit has the support and opportunities they need to learn, thrive, and achieve.

You’ll ensure that our statutory duties are met through the delivery of high-quality support. Creating a culture of respect, collaboration and inclusion so that people who work with us and the people we support can thrive. Leading by example, demonstrating and championing the role that the council should play in building good lives, within the organisation and with system partners.

Creating a reflective environment that enables staff to learn, develop and progress and for the voice of people who draw on support to be genuinely influential in-service delivery and improvement. In practical terms this will involve, managing a team of directors, creating robust procedures, engaging with colleagues to create a strategic plan and attending various complex meetings.

All to achieve and ensure services are safe, high quality and have positive impact on people’s lives.

What you’ll need

With a strong strategic vision, you’ll be able to provide direction and guidance regarding the allocation of resources, risk management, partnership working, change management and participation/engagement of those using services.

Drawing upon your experience as a leader within Children's and/or Adult’s Services to drive service performance. With key monitoring, evaluation, and budgetary control.

You will also be supported to complete an Enhanced DBS.
