The role
As a Warehouse Stores Operative, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working within the stores warehouse team you will support the production area. Interacting with managers, peers, production area colleagues and taking deliveries from external providers at the goods in area.
Day to day, you’ll order picking the kit to supply to production, provide necessary items to production, ensure the correct orders are being picked an updating the internal computer system. (full training will be provided so we want to hear from candidates that are seeking their first warehousing role)
- Responsible for accurate execution of all stores tasks and to support the operation of Stores
- The issuing of parts from stores to Authorised personnel by approved methods in a timely safe and professional manner
- The accurate and timely booking out of parts
- Maintenance of the security of stores by ensuring that all gates remain locked and un-authorised persons within the stores area are challenged and if necessary reported to the Stores Manager
- Referral of stock discrepancies and potential shortages to the Stores Manager and other relevant parties (i.e. Runner, Supervisor, Ordering Manager) as indicated by the Stores Manager
- To attend to requests from shop floor personnel in an appropriate timely and professional manner, and when unable to attend to refer personnel to the Stores Manager for further attention
Essential experience of the Warehouse Stores Operative,
- PC literate
- Warehouse experience/order picking/stock control is desirable but not essential
- Ability to manual handle safely
This role is full time based at our Walsall site
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC Level 2 security clearance level for this role.
