Metal Shop Team Leader (Paint / Weld / Assembly)

Shift: 6am – 2pm Mon - Friday
We have an exciting opportunity for a Metal Shop Team Leader in a leading manufacturing and production business in Exeter.
Due to company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is looking for an experienced Metal Shop Team Leader to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the factory's function is well maintained.
Reporting directly to the Metal Shop Supervisor the purpose of this role is to co-ordinate and oversee the manufacture of sheet metal components and maintain quality control over the items produced.
The individual must have a keen eye for detail and a comprehensive knowledge of metal shop processes, procedures & controls to ensure components are manufactured to specification within the given tolerances.
This role is pivotal to the performance and future development of the sheet metal facility and requires a proactive, motivated, self-driven individual who is customer focused and results driven. You must be willing to learn and become multi-skilled across a range of skills and disciplines and be willing to lead by example.
The team typically consists of between 8 and 12 members.
Essential candidate requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Dynamic, proactive and pioneering
Flexibility to carry out a wide ranging role
Computer Literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office
Management experience in a sheet metal manufacturing role would be desirable
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and use a range of measuring equipment
Lean, 5S & Six Sigma training would be an advantage
IOSHH training would be an advantage
CNC experience or a mechanical background would be an advantage
Physically fit to cope with heavy lifting
Lead by example and display a proactive approach to continuous improvement
You must be a team player who is keen to develop others
Salary/Shift & Benefits:
Salary £26,000-£28,000 DOE (12% shift allowance included)
00am-2.00pm Monday to Fridays
4 Weeks Starting Holiday including Bank Holidays
