The Junior Web Designer will report into the Head of Design and work closely with the photography team and from time to time the buying teams.
As a web designer, your primary responsibility is to create visually appealing and functional websites that meet the needs of clients or users. Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and motivated junior web designer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for web design, a keen eye for aesthetics, and a strong understanding of user experience. You will collaborate with our Head of Design and Marketing Director to create visually striking and user-friendly homepage and email creative for the Get The Label website.
Responsibilities:
1. Designing visually engaging emails, landing pages, and web elements based on marketing plan requirements.
2. Collaborating with the Head of Design to ensure design feasibility and implementation on the web platform and all devices.
3. Ongoing research on current design trends, user behaviours, and competitor websites to inform your design decisions.
5. Ensuring that all web designs are responsive and compatible with different browsers and devices.
6. Optimizing web graphics and other media for faster loading times and improved performance.
7. Incorporating best practices in UX design to enhance user satisfaction and usability.
8. Assisting in the ongoing maintenance and updates of the GTL website, including design improvements and bug fixes where applicable.
9. Staying up-to-date with industry trends, new design tools, and technologies to continuously improve your skills and design approach.
Requirements:
1. Some experience as a web designer, with a portfolio showcasing a diverse range of web design projects.
2. Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
3. Solid understanding of web design principles, user interface (UI) design, and user experience (UX) best practices.
4. Strong eye for design and design principles.
5. Knowledge of responsive design and the ability to create designs that work seamlessly across various devices and screen sizes.
6. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
7. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about design challenges.
