Main responsibilities
- Assisting in stock inventory following the Goods In receipt process and ensuring that incoming deliveries are properly and timely receipted, booked-in and stored
- Keeping stores clean and tidy
- Organise and ensure deliveries reach the right departments within the depot
- Liaising with internal engineers, suppliers and agents regarding parts ordering, stock control and warranty claims on faulty parts
- Reporting any discrepancies on stock levels to the store’s manager
- Ensuring stock levels are up to date by monitoring the inventory system
- Adhere to the Health and Safety at work policy, ensuring protective clothing is worn at all times and appropriate practices and procedures are always followed
Key Safety Responsibilities
- Act in a manner as to ensure the health, safety, welfare, environment and fire safety of yourself and others in the organisation, as well as any customers, clients and visitors - understanding emergency and evacuation arrangements
- Ensure your working environment is maintained in a safe and tidy condition
- Act proactively identifying any unsafe practices or safety risks in the organisation, reporting appropriately
- Ensure adherence to all relevant company and Go-Ahead group company policies and procedures
Requirements
- Experience of working with inventory management systems such as Equinox, SAP and Kerridge
- Relevant UK right to work documents - Working visa/permits will not be considered if you have less than 18 months remaining at interview
- Basic IT skills
- Good level of numerical competence
- Good level of verbal reasoning
Pay & Shift Patterns
- £21,000 per annum - subject to a pay rise
- 38 hours per week
- Working hours predominantly between 08:00 and 16:00 however, there may be requirements to work different hours to ensure efficient running of the engineering department
