So what’s the job all about?
Our Stock Controller roles at Samworth Brothers won’t hang about for long. That’s because the people who’ll apply for them are full of energy and lightning quick.
Speed, stamina, and good communication skills are qualities we love here. The stock controller is responsible for the ensuring that adequate stock is maintained and readily available to service the needs of Production. They follow strict inventory controls, including reconciling any stock discrepancies and work closely with the Planning Team to ensure continuity of the supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- To physically count product and stocks in various locations
- To enter stock information to the computer system
- To reconcile stock figures, challenging, re-checking, and reporting on as appropriate
- Ensure any loose ends regarding stock discrepancies are tied up before the end of the respective shift, to allow stock reports to be processed throughout the day by others
- Liaise with shift supervision/management at the end of shift to reconcile figuresWork to specific deadlines to coincide with automatic system updates and production shift start times
- Night shift available Monday to Friday 22:00 – 06:00 (£535.51 p/w)
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
- Experience of working in food manufacturing desirable
- Production bookings
- Quality minded with a good attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- A flexible approach to working hours in line with the requirements of the business
- Ability to work under pressure and use their own initiative
- Computer literate with excellent numeracy, literacy, and communication skills
- Ambitious, self-motivated with a desire to learn
