Stock Control Officer – Barnsley
Salary: £ 13.61 Per Hour Umbrella
Full Time: Monday to Friday – 08:00am to 16:00pm
Role Purpose:
To monitor and audit the stock held at Bernslai Home Stores and all Bernslai Homes Vans that hold stock ensuring compliance with stock systems and procedures.
To assist in the efficient, effective delivery of a comprehensive stores service.
To work closely with Procurement Manager and Stores Manager to deliver service improvements to all areas of stores including the review of procedures.
Responsibilities:
- To undertake duties relating to stock control and audit within stores and vans using the prevailing policies and procedures including: -
- Weekly stores stock counts
- Review of stocked items and reorder levels
- Investigations into stock discrepancies
- Six monthly and year-end stock taxes in stores and annual van stock checks
- Report generation of stock checks carried out for both van stocks and stores
- Updating of computerised system with approved amendments to stock levels including write-on and write-off of stock.
- Generating report prior to van stock checks of expected van stock levels in line with van stock procedures.
- To regularly review the reorder levels of stock items to minimise out of stocks and to coordinate and operate a robust approach to out of stocks including carrying out initial investigations, offering alternative solutions including checking items available on van stock before an out of stock is issued to procurement.
- To conduct investigations into stock, take and stock discrepancies (criteria as established with procurements manager). Compile details of all investigations carried out and conclusions made monthly to the procurement manager.
- Produce spreadsheets and reports of stock checks carried out, for the stores manager, procurement manager and operations managers so they are aware of the results and carry out their own enquiries where necessary.
- Assis the stores manager in the identification and disposal of slow moving, obsolete and damaged stock and with stock rotation in line with the stock management policy. Including advertising any items agreed by Bernslai Homes SMT on the Bernslai Homes EBay Account,
- To assist in ensuring that health and safety legislation and good practice is compiled with including obtaining COSSH data sheets and maintaining the COSSH data base.
- Carry out and ensure stock purchase order control including creation of SAP generated reports and liaison with suppliers regarding outstanding orders/ balances. Amend purchase orders accordingly and work with suppliers making sure they are aware of the stock levels they need to hold for Bernslai Homes.
- Work closely with stores manager and procurement to find alternative suppliers for historical problem materials.
- Create new materials on SAP for new stock items as agreed with stores Manager.
- Carry out portable appliance testing on any tools/appliance owned by Bernslai Homes at the stores or on the vans as directed by the store manager.
