The Commercial Business Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis and strategic insights to support the restaurant company's commercial operations and financial auditing activities. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and profitability. The Commercial Business Analyst will report to the Commercial Director and work closely with various departments including operations, finance, and marketing.
Responsibilities:
Financial Auditing:
- Assist in conducting remote financial audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
- Review financial statements, transactional data, and other financial records to identify discrepancies, errors, or potential fraud.
- Collaborate with the finance team and external auditors to resolve audit findings and implement corrective actions.
Commercial Analysis:
- Conduct thorough financial analysis of the company's commercial operations, including procurement and supply chain performance, pricing strategies, product profitability, and cost analysis.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to optimize revenue and profitability based on financial analysis.
- Develop and maintain financial models to track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
- Perform financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support business decision-making.
Commercial Operations Support:
- Collaborate with the wider commercial team operations team to analyse sales data, market trends, and customer insights to identify business opportunities and risks.
- Assist in the development and implementation of pricing strategies, promotions, and sales programs to drive revenue growth.
- Conduct competitive analysis to benchmark the company's performance against industry standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide financial support in the evaluation of potential business partnerships, acquisitions, and new market entry initiatives.
A bit about you;
- Proven experience in financial analysis, business partnering, or related roles, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse complex data sets, interpret financial statements, and develop financial models.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
