Location: Oxford (hybrid working – 3days per week in the office)
We have a number of exciting STEM internships available within our R&D and Service Delivery business areas.
These opportunities will suit individuals who are currently studying, or are graduating from, a STEM based degree, or those with a keen interest in these areas and are keen to learn more!
About the Internships
Our STEM internship programmes are designed to give you great exposure and responsibility, with scientific imaging, innovation and physics at the heart of them all. With individual projects and wider team support, you will play an important part in assisting with the ongoing productivity and future development of the specific team you join and their impact on Perspectum.
Business areas and responsibilities can include:
Imaging Science – extracting data from images, documenting data processing protocols, image analysis and segmentation, programming
Physics – exploring existing and novel analysis methods to obtain robust and reproducible MRI, refining specific analytical methods through investigation, performance evaluation
Imaging Applications – designing software for medical imaging, writing software documentation, developing tools to improve the quality of MRI scans
Innovation – developing and applying imaging science techniques for analysis, high quality coding practices, image analysis on MRI and CT data
Visualisation – communicating data through the creation of 3D models, 2D images, stylised renderings, big data visualisations and product marketing visualisations.
About You
These internships are most suited to those who have studied, or are studying, a STEM based degree eg. Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Medical Physics, Computer Science. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will have strong attention to detail and remain calm under pressure.
You must have excellent numerical and analytics skills, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills. Interested in problem solving and research, you will enjoy working with a variety of stakeholders and being solutions orientated.
Although not essential, experience using, or knowledge of, prototype coding (Python, MATLAB, R etc.) or other programming languages (SQL etc.) will be beneficial for some of these internships.
