We are looking for a Statutory Reporting Manager to join our highly-talented, growing finance team. This is a very exciting role for someone with an interest in Financial Reporting. The role is not limited to Statutory reporting but it includes a wide range of responsibilities including supporting the Head of Group Statutory Reporting in accounting policy matters and technical input in new transactions, products and group restructuring proposals. In addition, this role offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in an IPO process.
This role is suitable for managers with previous demonstrable experience working on the creation and production of consolidated financial statements for a group in the banking industry or fintech or strong technical knowledge of financial reporting for the banking industry.
This role will report to the Head of Group Statutory Reporting.
Responsibilities

  • Assist in the production of the Group’s annual report and financial statements.
  • Drive the statutory audits for the Group including the non-Banking subsidiaries.
  • Drive efficiencies and improvements in group consolidation and solo financial statements processes.
  • Assist in developing and producing quarterly and semi-annual reporting for the Group and trading updates as required.
  • Alignment of the Group’s Finrep reporting with other statutory reporting
  • Assist in dealing with the external auditors.
  • Prepare technical papers for the audit committee on material accounting judgements and impact accounting policy changes.
  • Develop and review accounting for new products and implement accounting processes where required (eg EIR, SPPI test).
  • Understand output of key monthly financial processes (eg: expected credit loss, hedge accounting) and their impact on statutory reporting.
  • Implementing strong controls and processes, including the review and sign-off of process documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial and accounting regulations to ensure they are applied consistently and accurately.
  • Developing close working relationships across Finance, Treasury, and the wider Bank.
  • Manage, coach and develop junior team members.
Requirements:
  • You have experience working in Banking or Relevant Financial Services
  • A qualified chartered accountant with at least 3 years PQE and strong academic background
  • Experience with International Accounting Standards and in particular IFRS 9
  • Previous experience of producing Bank statutory accounts and disclosure for banks
  • Ability to understand a trial balance and build reporting from underlying data
  • Solid financial accounting skills including the ability to analyse and interpret variances
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial systems and procedures including the ability to extract and manipulate data
  • A self-starter and independent worker with strong interpersonal skills
  • You can work in an environment with a high level of ambiguity
  • You have very strong analytical, numerical and excel skills
  • You are well organised with the ability to plan and deliver on tight deadlines with attention to detail
