Job description

Vivienne Westwood is looking for a Couture Manager to join the Couture Team in the Head Office in Battersea, London.

The Couture Manager will work closely with Head of Couture on Special projects, and will be responsible for autonomously and effectively driving project flows, from Design to Delivery.

This position is offered on a full time basis, for 10 months, on a FTC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project managing all projects from design through to construction and delivery. Working cross functionally with Design, Studio, Management, Finance and Logistics. Liaising with fabrics, embroiderers, and other suppliers.
  • Managing the fitting schedule and Special Projects calendar in communication with Design, the Atelier, and the clients. Coordinate all fittings, including virtual fittings, ensuring all resources are prepared in advance.
  • Discussing celebrity design briefings with members of the Creative design team and the Press team.
  • Attend Special Project fittings to ensure awareness of all aspects of the project, including changes that require communication, and recording notes.
  • Liaising with the clients/ VIPs throughout the design and construction process.
  • Coordinate all travel arrangements with VIP team.
  • Maintaining regular and timely communication with the studio team and coordinating actions as appropriate.
  • Manage and control costs of both celebrities and private clients. Negotiating in conjunction with Press office, payment terms for special projects for Celebrities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of packages to be sent to clients including designs, fabrics, swatches, etc.
  • Uploading all special project garments on PLM/SAP systems.
  • Training retail staff on the couture range and how to conduct couture appointments.
  • Knowledge of the brand archive and couture samples. Booking garments in and out and keeping track of sends outs and locations of gowns.
  • Developing annual couture collections for red carpet and bridal with Head of Couture, Senior Couture Manager and Senior Bridal Collection Manager.
  • Working on a daily basis with the Press office, recommending dresses/outfits to meet briefs sent by magazines/stylists which are appropriate for the celebrity, occasion, colour, shape, size. Ensuring where possible that current Made to Order, Couture and AK products are being promoted and offered with the packages.
  • Required to work at shows, assisting Press, and dealing with clients.
