The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is seeking Statistical Production Analysts to join their Economic, Social and Environmental Group, where you can make a significant impact by producing high-quality economic statistics and ensuring their accuracy through effective quality assurance measures. As a key member of the production team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with various survey teams and stakeholders to deliver insightful economic commentary and analysis, which informs policy decisions that affect the country.
Successful candidates may find themselves allocated to roles within the Macroeconomic & Environment Statistics & Analysis (MESA) or Economic Statistics Production & Analysis (ESPA) directorates, where they will work on producing a wide range of UK economic statistics, including labour market, national accounts, household expenditure, and more.
As a Statistical Production Analyst, you will have the chance to utilise your analytical skills to identify key trends and movements in data, and address any issues that arise in data processes, systems, and methods. Additionally, you will play a vital role in maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and delivering key messages to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Essential Criteria
- Ability to carry out data processing tasks that contribute to a statistical publication, as well as completing quality assurance measures to ensure outputs are accurate and trustworthy.
- Demonstrable ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively, particularly in situations where work needs to be delivered in a timely manner.
- Able to carry out pieces of analytical work, such as identifying key trends and movements in data, as well as potential anomalies that require further investigating.
- Demonstrable experience of engagement with stakeholders, including answering customer queries in a professional manner, and developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
