Job description
About us
UCLH and UCL have been awarded a new NIHR Patient Safety Research Collaboration which will open from 1 April 2023 and is funded for 5 years in the first instance (or until 28th March 2028 if starting later). This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative individual to be at the cutting edge of an exciting new research endeavour. The NIHR Central London PSRC is a new research centre, and the post holder will have a vital role in developing its organizational structure, and providing efficient and effective operational leadership, working alongside the Director, Professor Ramani Moonesinghe. The maximum salary available is £54,041 per annum (including London Allowance).
About the role
The PSRC will exist as a discrete structure at UCLH/UCL with its own profile and identity, and its own structure and ring-fenced budgets. The post-holder will take the lead on developing and coordinating operational management systems to enable the smooth running of the Centre and the delivery of its objectives. Key to the role is extensive strategic planning and co-ordination of research related information and communication with internal and external stakeholders. The NIHR Central London PSRC will focus on patient safety challenges in surgical, perioperative, acute and critical care, taking a pathway-based approach which will also therefore encompass primary and community care. Patient and public involvement will be at the heart of our research activities and we have a strong commitment both to the ‘levelling up’ agenda in terms of research outputs, and also ensuring that our staff and our research reflect the diversity of our population, and the patients that the NHS serves. The PSRC is organized into themes of activity, each with its own leads and research projects. It will also be home to a career development academy, supporting PhD students, postdoctoral and mid-career researchers, from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds. A job description and person specification can be accessed at the bottom of this page.
