WHAT TO EXPECT
As an STA New Model Launch Engineer, you’ll bring your knowledge of delivery of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) through the application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to a team of engineers based in region for new model quality and delivery of supplier’s production parts. Working with internal stakeholders and supplier representatives to ensure JLR requirements are met and provide upfront support with concept/design failure mode avoidance (DFMEA & PFMEA).
From engineering release completing PPAP checklists, supporting checking fixture and gauge design strategy and confirming suppliers initial control plan this position will provide variety and excitement.
Key accountabilities and Responsibilities
Through active membership of Commodity Teams, you will represent STA in supplier new part development and introduction to support delivery of New Model Launch. You will maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholder and supplier representatives to ensure PSW Quality and Delivery targets are met and all supplier manufacturing process related issues are resolved in a timely manner. You will be responsible for managing supplier process, part development and introduction to support delivery of excellent quality and on time launch of vehicle projects.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential:
To excel in this position of STA New Model Launch Engineer you’ll have a deep working knowledge and understanding of APQP, PPAP, Body-in-White, and Aluminium High Pressure Die Casting. You’ll demonstrate excellent stakeholder management, excellent communication with suppliers and customers, and be able to effectively manage and deliver complex projects on time. You’ll also need:
- Previous experience in a Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering environment gained at engineer or management level.
- A proven track record in Quality Management in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Problem Solving Skills
- A relevant degree or experience would be preffered
