About the Employer
I'm looking for a PA for my daughter. My daughter has a diagnosis of severe autism and associated severe learning disabilities. She is generally a happy girl who enjoys being out having fun and burning off energy. She can however be a bit difficult if something doesn't go her way i.e. having to wait around for long periods of time, she is non-verbal and can get frustrated in not being able to communicate her wants/needs which can present as challenging behaviour. Places : My daughter enjoys visiting trampoline parks (jump 360 specifically), inflataspace in Newcastle, the ball pool at the Alan shearer Centre and most of all swimming at haven point with her current PA. She also enjoys McDonald’s for lunch after these activities. My daughter requires 1:1 supervision at all times and relies on an adult to keep her safe. She has lots of energy and if in crisis will run so the successful applicant should feel able to 'keep up with her' in order to keep her safe. if on odd occasion's PA has plans and can't manage Sunday I would certainly consider Saturday's on rare occasions but not permanent Saturdays. My daughter is not toilet trained and wears a pad so applicants need to feel comfortable in changing her and also must be female due to this. In the first instance I'd like the PA to take my daughter to the places mentioned above where she feels comfortable while a bond is formed. Once a bond is formed and my daughter feels safe with her PA and the PA has experience of my daughter I'm more than happy for the PA to then start trying other places.
