Responsible for providing compliant environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to operating departments at Our companies' Animal
Health Sites (UK and EU region)
Integrates EHS programs into daily operations to assure regulatory compliance, achieves continuous performance improvement, meeting
EHS performance objectives. Partners with operations to develop objectives to achieve these goals in alignment with site business goals and values.
Deputize for the EHS lead with the site and global leadership and all external stakeholders and regulatory agencies
MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support and coordination in developing, defining, and implementing site EH&S systems for the Animal Health sites. This entails guiding and directing site support efforts, communicating with the site staff and subgroups, in addition to obtaining site EH&S inputs where required.
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with other EHS staff/ Engineering/and Operations personnel to leverage best practices and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Coordinates industrial hygiene requirements applicable to the company activities ensuring that personal and workplace exposures are controlled and providing reports to management.
- Reviews processes, facilities, procedures and management of change documents to assure conformance to recognized EHS regulations, standards and guidelines. Develop successful permitting strategies based on regulatory requirements, site operations and site business plans.
- Maintain records as required by applicable permit or regulations or provides guidance to the facility on how to maintain the required records
- Coordination of independent inspections of facilities and practices, as required, for conformance with Site, Corporate and/or Statutory safety requirements. Ensure Operations are carried out in accordance with required standards of safety and in adherence to all relevant Company Policies and Procedures
- Perform internal audits of the EHS management system and associated operating procedures to evaluate compliance and identify opportunities for improvement
- To ensure that events are fully investigated, and appropriate Corrective and Preventative actions are put in place to prevent a recurrence. Support lead investigators and coordinate monthly event review forum.
- To liaise with the Health and Safety Executive, the Environment Agency and other appropriate enforcing authorities.
- Statutory reporting of events to the enforcing authorities and internal reporting of our companies defined significant incidents.
- To ensure that adequate records are maintained to demonstrate compliance with EHS programs and management systems.
- To support and review environmental wastewater characterizations for approval prior to discharge.
- Coordinate collection of environmental performance data, review and reporting for our companies' corporate environmental data collection.
- Develop the EHS training strategy and support the delivery and coaching of both management and employees.
- Implement EHS initiatives in the region aligned with global initiatives will implement in the site and support smaller sites in the region.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering discipline or environmental or safety-related technical discipline
- Health/Safety certificate confirming the ability to perform the function of a Health & Safety professional
Experience and Key Skills
- Minimum 6 years of experience within a high-output manufacturing environment. Previous experience in leading project teams with and/or without managerial responsibility is advantageous.
- Knowledge of health and safety and Environmental law in the UK and EU region. Robust skills in interpreting and applying regulatory frameworks such as EU, OSHA, EPA, ISO, NFPA, GMP are advantageous.

- High ethical standards, being a role model of business compliance and integrity
- Proven ability to prioritize, focus on and obtain business results
- Demonstrated analytical and logical problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to perform multiple, complex tasks simultaneously to efficiently support the business
- Clear and recognizable understanding of processes, equipment, and methods associated with Plastic & electronic products Manufacturing is advantageous
