Job description
We are looking to hire a junior ETL developer to design and fill a data warehousing environment for our company. Your duties will include consulting with the data management team, reviewing the storage needs of the company, creating a data warehouse, extracting data from company servers, filling the new warehouse, and testing it upon completion.
To ensure success as an ETL developer, you should have extensive knowledge of coding languages and warehouse architecture and be able to clearly communicate your ideas to the company. Ultimately, a junior ETL developer will learn to create a highly efficient and customized warehouse environment that perfectly suits the data storage needs of the company.
The position requires a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to follow clear instructions and an interest in relational databases, servers and scripting languages. Specifically, the candidate with be trained and expected to take on the responsibilities below as a minimum.
Responsibilities include:
Mastering a working knowledge of Teksouth’s EntelliFusion product offering including.
Scripting
T-SQL
Writing ETL jobs
Backups and restore
Maintenance and support
Consulting with data management teams to get a big-picture idea of the company’s data storage needs.
Presenting customer and/or the company with warehousing options based on their storage needs.
Designing and coding the data warehousing system to desired specifications.
Conducting preliminary testing of the warehousing environment before data is extracted.
Extracting data and transferring it into the new warehousing environment.
Testing the new storage system once all the data has been transferred.
Troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
Providing maintenance support.
Maintain compliance with cyber assurance directives such as Notice To Airmen (NOTAM), Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), etc.)
Verify and validate completion of routine and ad hoc backups
Validate the ability to restore files from backups.
Dependable with the ability to learn quickly
Team Focus
Builds respectful relationships with team members; consistently acknowledges and appreciates each member's contributions
Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members
Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive actions
Additional tasks include writing reports, evaluating new technologies… This position may also work on other projects, such as web database maintenance, cloud database initiatives, as needed.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Ability to learn coding languages, including XML, and SQL.
Ability to learn data warehousing architecture techniques, including MOLAP, ROLAP, ODS, DM, and EDW.
Clear communication skills.
Must be willing to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
