Opportunity: SQL Developer

  • Develop MS-SQL queries and stored procedures, and create custom reports, you will also be responsible for designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance.
  • Write optimized queries, views, and triggers for integration with other applications.
  • Maintain high standards of data quality and integrity.
  • Support, plan, organize and control Database design and development activities.
  • Under general direction, perform the planning and the installation of Database components, configure, and upgrade them by following the company standards to enable standardized and optimal use of the computer tools.
  • Develop high-quality database solutions with efficient structures.
  • Function as a technical advisor role to IT teams, analyze needs as well as work and reference tools and proceed with recommendations and planning of the implementation of new processes and tools needed for the proper functioning and integrity of technological operations.
  • Follow up on requests using incident management, problem management tools, and change control procedures to guarantee complete resolution of problems.
  • Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 5 to 8 years of extensive experience with MS SQL servers.
  • Mandatory proven experience in administering SQL Server, T-SQL queries, and SSIS.
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, and Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
  • Recent migration experience of migrating DB2 to Microsoft SQL server / Azure Synapse is a strong asset.
  • Experience with Oracle database management and/or DB2 for AS400 would be an asset.
  • Experience with security, performance, scalability, and tuning for custom applications.
  • Ability to participate, analyze, and remediate the impact of software, database, or infrastructure changes.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud services
  • The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), specifically Scrum and Agile methodology.
  • Critical thinker and a team player with a growth mindset.
  • Good time-management skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical groups.
