Job Description:
We are looking for an innovative SQL DBA to join our company. As the DBA who is specialised in MS SQL, you will be looking after the Database Administration and Upgrade activities.
- Installation, configuration and upgrading of SQL standard / Ent. and related products.
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
- Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
- Work as part of a team and provide support when required
- Patch Management and Version Control.
- Perform technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams.
- Regular DB monitoring and administration
- Coordination with all the support teams for day-to-day activity and during incidence, problem, Change, release management
- Coordination for audits (Internal and external) and - Closure of audit findings based on the agreed dates
- Management of database backup, and integration with backup software
- Daily, weekly, monthly data backup and restoration
- Maintenance of documents (SOP, SMP, Backup / recovery etc.) as per the industry standards
- Perform Recovery procedures when DR is invoked.
- Provide after hours and on-call support to critical databases if needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience working as SQL Database Administrator
- Extensive Experience in SQL Server 2008R2, 2012, 2016, 2017 and 2019
- Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in upgrade and migration activities
- Experience in software design and application architectures
- Good in communication and can confidently discuss with customer about technical approaches or issues in detail
Desirable/Good to have
- Experience in Azure cloud solutions
- MCSA Certification
- Azure Cloud Certification/s
