We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join our Adult Learning Disability Team in Salford to cover a period of maternity leave.
The post is a 7-month fixed term position, as a full time (37.5 hrs) Band 8a. Approximate dates for this post are September 2023 – March 2024, but there could be negotiation on this with the successful candidate.
You will be part of a small friendly Psychology team, which is a part of a large fully integrated service. Psychology is highly valued and well-established in our service and joining the team at this time would be an exciting opportunity to be a part of the development of our therapy offer in Salford with the consideration of other proactive ways in which psychological input can be offered to people with learning disabilities, their families/carers. It would also be a useful opportunity to anyone wishing to gain further experience in a learning disability work setting. We can offer you a varied and interesting post with regular clinical supervision and CPD opportunities.
You will:
- Contribute to the provision and development of specialist psychological care provided to adults with learning disabilities.
- Supervise Assistant Psychologists and a Trainee Clinical Psychologist (if timing was appropriate with trainee placement allocation) and support their clinical and professional development.
- Lead on our dementia pathway, including ongoing support to the well-established links with the mainstream memory service in Salford.
- Run therapeutic groups and workshops.
- Offer support and consultation to our health and social care colleagues.
