Key External Contacts: Suppliers/Customers
General Purpose of role
The main function of the production departments is to manufacture components to the customer requirements and standards set. The manufacture is carried out using various plant and equipment .The role of the skilled springmaker is to ensure that the components are made correctly in the time allowed
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Manufacture components to drawing requirements using plant and equipment.
- Support other members of the manufacturing team and assist in the develolpment of apprentices.
- Ensure maintenance are made aware of any breakdows or issues with plant and equipment.
- Maintaining a good working environment and safe working conditions through good housekeeping standards, ensuring appropriate personal protective equipment is worn when required, encouraging a positive ‘safety culture’ and aiming for zero accidents which can be monitored through accident statistics and health and safety inspections
- May be required to work extened or flexible working hours on occasions when required
- May be required to travel to customers/suppliers or other companies within the Sogefi group

Education and Trainings
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Spring-making Apprenticeship
- HNC
Experience
- Two years’ experience in the role following completion of apprenticeship
- Product/process knowledge
- Good progress control skills, establishing and executing procedures to guard and check the progress of processes, tasks or activities of co-workers, as well as the progress of own activities and responsibilities
- Have original solutions for problems connected to the function. Can find new working methods to replace existing ones, combines existing ideas to build a solution
- Able to motivate self and others. Sets high standards for own work and aims to comply.
- Has a disciplined approach to company policies and procedures, will look for confirmation with the right people in case of changes and will not deviate from agreed rules and procedures, even when everyone feels negative about it
