Res/SME Senior Hedging & Risk Analyst
Here's what you'll be doing
Location - Nottingham or Coventry with hybrid working
Salary - £55,501 - £71,634
As the Senior Analyst within the Residential/SME Hedging and Risk team, you'll be working alongside the Commercial business and the rest of the Energy Markets function to help ensure we're securing the correct amount of Electricity and Gas for our customers, while providing external market insight into competitor activity combined with analysis on wholesale market conditions to maintain optimal hedging strategies.
Hedging and Wholesale Market - You will understand the rapidly evolving competitive market and continually review our hedging strategies, with the goal of delivering a wholesale cost base that allows the business to achieve margins in line with financial planning expectations.
Residential and SME – You will closely partner the E.ON Next commercial team to understand the product portfolio and expectations of customer behaviour to deliver a competitive cost base for the business.
Regulatory Change – Close involvement in consultations, RFIs and other Ofgem and BEIS requirements.
Target Hedge Position – You will work closely with teams across Energy Markets UK to provide accurate hedge targets that align with the relevant hedging strategies, whilst also considering wholesale market constraints so that targets are achievable.
What we need from you
- Excellent Excel capability and analytical understanding.
- Understanding of dynamic retail environment and E.ON’s strategic goals within that environment.
- Experience in working across business boundaries to enable successful and thriving working relationships.
- Knowledge of wholesale energy markets and products used for risk management within them.
- Drive to understand the causes of and solutions to retail risks.
- Ability to translate complex subject matter and tailor for the audience.
